LEADERS IN TRAINING FOR GRADES 7TH - 9TH

Our Leaders in Training summer camp program offers an engaging experience centered around five distinct "pathways" designed to empower the leaders of tomorrow. Through an elective-based curriculum, campers will have the opportunity to engage in daily workshops centered around leadership development, healthy living, and civic engagement, developing tangible skills for both their personal and professional futures.

Five Pathways:

  1. Future Y-Leaders - With a focus on mentorship, professional development, and building the next generation of leaders, this pathway gives campers the opportunity to work alongside experienced YMCA mentors while they develop their skills in communication, conflict resolution, and leadership styles. Campers will gain experience in leading group activities and fostering teamwork through a variety of workshops and skill sessions.
  2. Service Stars - Designed for aspiring changemakers, this pathway is dedicated to fostering a spirit of service, and social responsibility among middle school campers. Campers will work on community service projects, in-branch initiatives, and fundraising efforts throughout the course of the summer.
  3. Healthy Living - Dive into a wellness journey centered around physical fitness, nutrition, and supporting mental health. This pathway helps give campers the tools they need to maintain healthy habits as a teen into early adulthood and beyond.
  4. Outdoor Adventurers - Explore the great outdoors with our Outdoor Adventure pathway, designed to ignite a passion for nature, foster outdoor skills, and instill a deep appreciation for the environment in middle school campers.
  5. Creative Arts - Designed to ignite creativity, nurture talent, and inspire young artists to explore a world of diverse artistic mediums, the Creative Arts pathway gives campers the opportunity to develop both professional and personal skills tied to the creation of art.

These teens must participate in an interview with the Director prior to the program start date.
